Welcome to a world surrounded by magic

Yufuin Floral Village, a sort of village within a village that seems to have just come out of a fairy tale book. We are in Oita prefecture, visiting it will make you feel like you have ended up in a typical English village. Yufuin Floral Village was born in 2012 by the will of a local entrepreneur, who for its architecture was inspired by the English towns in the Cotswolds. This bold project did not take long to attract travelers and locals and is now a recommended destination for tourists.

The houses are quite small, all decorated with pretty flowers and lamps and the village itself is surrounded by stunning mountains and hills.

Inside, there is one way to spend the day: shopping. Inside the small cottages there are themed shops inspired by pop culture characters, such as Kiki’s Bakery which is a reproduction of the bakery in “Kiki’s Delivery Service”. One shop is entirely dedicated to Alice in Wonderland, and then there is the Fairy’s Shop, the fairy shop.

Union Jack flags and English writings are scattered throughout the Yufuin Floral Village. In addition to the themed shops, you can also enjoy a large amount of flowers and plants.

IAlso, for those who have fallen in love with the natural and ancient atmosphere, there is a hotel located on a hill to spend the night. From up there you can see not only the entire village dimly lit by small street lamps, but also the breathtaking panorama of the mountains and hills of the area.

The environment is structured in this way, making it an ideal place to bring the whole family. In the center of the village there is a duck pond, along with Peter Rabbit's animal garden, home to various species of Japanese and English plants. There are also enclosures for other animals scattered around the village such as squirrels, owls, cats and rabbits.

The place where magical objects are collected

Shopping in this theme park, where you can find products from magical stories such as Alice in Wonderland, locally produced gifts and souvenirs allows you to immerse yourself even more in a magical atmosphere.

You can also find vintage cars parked here and there in the park.

If you get tired of walking around the village, rest your legs in the hot foot bath of the onsen. The large communal bath Floral Village Onsen is great for relieving the tiredness of the day. After relaxing, you can spend some time watching the fairyland cityscape from the window of the room.

Alice and the Cheshire Cat Forest Tea Room

This is a cat café/restaurant, inspired by the forest where the Cheshire Cat from Alice's Wonderland lives.

Kiki's Pastry Shop

A cute bakery based on a fairy tale with a witch as the hero. Stopping for a snack is recommended

The Owl's Forest

At Owl’s Forest don’t miss the chance to meet cute owls and take pictures with some of them in the Owl Photo Studio and even dress up in magical clothes and costumes.

The best time of year to visit is during autumn and spring, as nearby Lake Kinrin makes for a beautiful scenic stop.
