Umeshu

Umeshu is a Japanese liqueur obtained by macerating ume, or still unripe and green plums, in alcohol, with the addition of cane sugar. With a sweet and slightly sour flavor, the plums used for this liqueur are among the most prized in Japan and come mainly from Wakayama. Among the most renowned is the Nankou Ume, a plum with fleshy pulp and a small stone.
