Marutsune’s Gishi Soba are traditional Japanese dried noodles, produced in the historic Banshū region of Hyōgo Prefecture, one of Japan’s best-known areas for the production of dried noodles. Soba is characterised by its distinctive buckwheat flavour and pleasant texture, making it suitable for both cold and hot dishes. It can be served cold, drained and accompanied by tsuyu sauce, spring onion, wasabi and other condiments, or used to prepare a classic kake soba in hot broth. It is also excellent with tempura, vegetables, tofu, meat or other ingredients from Japanese cuisine. Marutsune is based in Tatsuno, in Hyōgo Prefecture, and specialises in producing traditional Banshū dried noodles.
