Traditional Japanese konnyaku, ready-to-use in brine, with a gelatinous and versatile texture. Ideal for nabe, sukiyaki and soups. Konnyaku is a traditional Japanese food made from the konjac root (Amorphophallus konjac), rich in glucomannan and very low in calories. This ‘shiro’ (white) version from Shimonita comes pre-soaked in its own preserving liquid, ready to use after a quick rinse. With its chewy, gelatinous texture and neutral flavour that absorbs seasonings perfectly, it is a versatile ingredient for nabe, sukiyaki, oden and stews. Very low in calories and gluten-free, it is perfect for those following light diets or simply wishing to discover an authentic ingredient from the Japanese culinary tradition. Drain and rinse well before use. Cut into slices or pieces according to the recipe. Ideal in hot soups, nabe and stews.
