Kaishindo’s matcha yōkan is a refined variation on the traditional Japanese sweet made from bean paste and kanten. The white bean paste, which is more delicate than azuki bean paste, allows the aroma of the matcha to come through clearly. The result is a well-balanced sweet, in which the initial sweetness is complemented by the characteristic vegetal and slightly bitter notes of green tea.
