This sweet potato shochu is produced using the prized 'Beni Haruka' sweet potatoes, grown in the fertile soil of Nagasaki's Goto Islands. The base distillate is matured in both sherry and oak barrels. Oak casks impart an amber hue and a toasty aroma derived from the cask material, while sherry casks develop a more intense richness and sweetness. The master distiller then blends the shochu aged in each barrel, after repeatedly tasting it, resulting in an exquisite ratio. Ideal to be consumed with dishes such as: yakitori, sukiyaki, tempura.
