Misho’s Tempura Shiki is the traditional Japanese paper used as a base for serving tempura, karaage and other fried foods. Thanks to its high absorbency, it helps to soak up some of the residual frying oil directly whilst serving, helping to keep the food drier and more appetising, whilst minimising the oil’s contact with the plate.
It is particularly suitable for Japanese restaurants, izakayas, sushi bars and professional catering establishments, but can also be used at home to achieve a more authentic presentation of Japanese fried dishes. The packaging also states that the paper complies with hygiene standards for food-contact materials and contains no fluorescent dyes or harmful substances.
