Anpan is a popular Japanese sweet: it is a soft, lightly sweetened bun, usually filled with Anko, a sweet cream made from red azuki beans. However, there are variations with other fillings, such as white beans, sesame, chestnuts or custard. This product combines Western baking techniques with traditional Japanese ingredients and is enjoyed by children and adults alike. It is often enjoyed for breakfast or as a snack and is so iconic that it even inspired a famous cartoon superhero: Anpanman. Honma is a company established back in 1906 in Tsukisamu, Sapporo, northern Japan. As the most historic business in Hokkaido, our tsukisamu anpan has become the must-have snack for locals. The so-called 'anpan road' starts in Tsukisamu and runs through Hiragishi, and was built in 1911 by the people who ate Tsukisamu anpan. This packet contains 5 individually wrapped pieces of anpan with different flavours: matcha, pumpkin, black sesame, brown sugar and red bean jam, enclosed in a lovely gift box.
