The town of Wazuka, located in Kyoto Prefecture, is characterised by crystal clear streams, green hills and gentle slopes of tea plantations, and has long been known as one of the main centres of Uji tea production. Hojicha is produced by roasting the stems known as karigane, bringing them to the right temperature to emphasise their fragrance and sweetness. The colour of the tea leaves may surprise you. Our highest quality roasted green tea, Ujicha Ichiban Hojicha, is made with high-class ingredients and advanced technology.
